Planning Engineer

**Job Summary:** The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, updating, and controlling project schedules for building construction projects. The role involves preparing baseline programs, monitoring project progress, analyzing delays, preparing recovery plans, and ensuring timely completion of project milestones in compliance with contractual requirements and Ashghal standards. **Key Responsibilities:** * Prepare detailed project schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and resource-loaded programs using Primavera P6. * Develop baseline schedules, recovery schedules, look-ahead plans, and revised programs as required. * Monitor project progress and compare actual performance against approved baseline schedules. * Identify potential delays, critical activities, and project risks and recommend corrective actions. * Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and project performance analyses. * Conduct critical path analysis (CPA) and evaluate schedule impacts. * Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure project objectives are achieved. * Monitor manpower, equipment, and material utilization against project schedules. * Prepare and update S-curves, histograms, cash flow forecasts, and earned value reports. * Assist in the preparation and evaluation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay analyses. * Participate in project meetings and provide planning and scheduling recommendations. * Review subcontractor schedules and ensure alignment with the master project schedule. * Ensure compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, and client reporting standards. * Maintain proper records of project schedules, updates, and planning documentation. Requirements & Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. * Minimum 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling for building construction projects. * Proven experience working on Ashghal projects in Qatar is mandatory/preferred. * Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, project controls, and scheduling methodologies. * Proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory. * UPDA/MMUP certification is an advantage. * Experience with high-rise buildings, commercial complexes, educational facilities, healthcare projects, or government building projects. * Qatar experience is highly preferred.
