**Job Description – Planning Engineer (Construction Planner)** **Location:** North Africa – Site Office **Position Type:** Full‑Time, Project‑Based **Reports To:** Project Manager **Project:** 5‑Star Hotel Development **Role Overview** The Planning Engineer will support the preparation, monitoring, and control of the project construction program for a high‑end hotel development. The role requires solid experience in large‑scale, multidisciplinary projects and the ability to manage planning activities across design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and final handover. The Planning Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager, technical office, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure all timelines, interfaces, and deliverables are properly coordinated and aligned with project objectives. **Key Responsibilities** * Prepare and maintain the project baseline program (Primavera P6 / MS Project) covering all phases: * Shop drawings and approvals * Material submittals and authority/client approvals * Procurement schedules and long‑lead items * Manufacturing, logistics, and delivery * Civil, structural, MEP, and architectural works * Internal finishes, external works, façade works * Fit‑out, joinery, FF&E, OS&E * Testing, commissioning, and handover * Develop detailed WBS, activity coding, logic links, and critical path analysis. * Coordinate with site engineers to ensure construction sequences reflect actual site conditions. * Integrate daily/weekly site progress into the updated program. * Prepare construction look‑ahead schedules (1‑week, 2‑week, 4‑week). * Monitor progress of civil, MEP, architectural, and finishing works. * Track external works (landscape, hardscape, utilities, infrastructure) and integrate them into the master schedule. * Identify delays, bottlenecks, and propose mitigation or recovery actions. * Prepare and track procurement schedules for: * MEP equipment * Façade systems * Specialist hotel systems (BMS, AV, security, kitchen equipment) * High‑end finishes, joinery, and FF&E * Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery aligned with construction needs. * Highlight procurement risks and follow up on critical items. * Develop detailed testing & commissioning programs for all systems. * Coordinate with MEP teams, specialist subcontractors, and suppliers. * Track inspection requests, testing milestones, and commissioning sequences. * Prepare handover schedules, documentation trackers, and close‑out plans. * Prepare schedules required for client/consultant submissions. * Support the Project Manager in presenting program updates during progress meetings. * Track client approvals for: * Shop drawings * Material submittals * Mock‑ups * Method statements * Ensure all approval cycles are reflected in the program. * Prepare: * Weekly and monthly progress reports * KPI dashboards * Delay analysis reports * Recovery schedules * Maintain planning logs, progress records, and approval trackers. * Support claims, variations, and EOT submissions with proper documentation. **Required Qualifications & Skills** * Bachelor’s degree in **Civil Engineering**, **Construction Management**, or related field. * **Minimum 8 years** of experience in planning for construction projects. * Experience in: * 5‑star hotels * Luxury office buildings * Mixed‑use developments * High‑end villa compounds * Proficiency in **Primavera P6** and **MS Project**. * Strong understanding of construction sequencing, procurement cycles, and testing & commissioning workflows. * Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills. * Ability to work effectively within a site‑based project environment. * UAE/GCC project experience. * Experience with high‑end finishes, complex MEP systems, and specialist hotel packages. * Experience preparing recovery schedules and delay analysis reports. * Familiarity with luxury fit‑out, FF&E, and OS&E coordination. **Please ensure you have reviewed the details thoroughly and apply only if you meet the specified qualifications and requirements.** Work Location: In person
