Planning Engineer - Qatar Construction Company

Qatar Construction Company (QCON) and similar large contractors (including L&T and other multinationals operating in Qatar) regularly hire labor positions — from site laborers and mechanics to equipment operators — for infrastructure and building projects. A **Planning Engineer** is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling construction project schedules to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. They are one of the most important roles in large construction projects in Qatar. **Key Responsibilities:** **1. Project Planning & Scheduling** Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project Prepare baseline programs, work sequences, and milestones Update schedules based on site progress **2. Progress Monitoring** Track daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress Compare actual progress vs planned schedule Identify delays and critical path activities **3. Delay Analysis & Reporting** Analyze project delays and causes (client, contractor, weather, resources) Prepare EOT (Extension of Time) claims Create recovery schedules to fix delays **4. Coordination** Work closely with site engineers, project managers, and subcontractors Coordinate with procurement and construction teams Attend project progress meetings **5. Reporting** Prepare: Weekly progress reports Monthly dashboards S-curves and productivity reports Present updates to clients and management **6. Resource & Cost Support** Assist in manpower and equipment planning Support cost control and cash flow tracking Monitor productivity rates on site **Requirements:** Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management 3–10+ years experience in construction planning Strong knowledge of: Primavera P6 MS Project Excel (advanced reporting) Experience in Qatar construction or GCC projects preferred Understanding of construction methods and sequencing Pay: From QAR10,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
