Plant and Machinery Supervisor

**Job Purpose** To oversee the operation, maintenance, mobilization, and efficient utilization of all plant, machinery, and heavy equipment used across high-rise construction projects, ensuring safety, cost control, and minimal downtime. **Key Responsibilities** **A. Equipment Planning & Allocation** * Plan and allocate plant & machinery based on project requirements and schedules. * Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Engineers for timely mobilization and demobilization of equipment. * Ensure optimum utilization of machinery across multiple sites. **B. Maintenance & Breakdown Management** * Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment. * Monitor equipment condition and ensure timely servicing and repairs. * Attend and resolve breakdowns quickly to minimize project delays. * Maintain maintenance logs and service history for all machinery. **C. Inventory & Asset Control** * Maintain an updated register of all plant & machinery (owned and hired). * Track equipment movement between sites. * Ensure proper tagging, identification, and documentation of assets. * Monitor fuel consumption and spare parts usage. **D. Vendor & Rental Equipment Management** * Coordinate with suppliers for hiring plant and machinery when required. * Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate rental terms. * Ensure hired equipment meets project specifications and safety standards. **E. Safety & Compliance** * Ensure all machinery complies with safety regulations and site requirements. * Conduct regular inspections and enforce safe operating practices. * Ensure operators are certified and trained. * Coordinate with HSE team for audits and compliance. **F. Cost Control & Reporting** * Monitor equipment-related costs including fuel, maintenance, and rentals. * Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency. * Prepare periodic reports on equipment utilization, downtime, and expenses. **G. Team Supervision** * Supervise operators, drivers, and mechanics. * Assign duties and monitor performance of plant team. * Provide training and guidance for safe and efficient equipment operation.
