Procurement Engineer

We are seeking a proactive and experienced **Procurement Engineer** to join our Procurement Department for our construction company in UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities related to construction materials, subcontract packages, equipment, and services while ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, technical compliance, and project support. The Procurement Engineer will coordinate closely with Project Management, Technical Engineering, Commercial, Finance, and Site Teams to ensure uninterrupted project execution and effective supply chain management. **Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & Supply Chain Management** * Manage procurement activities for construction materials, equipment, subcontractors, and services for ongoing projects. * Review project specifications, BOQs, drawings, and material requirements to prepare procurement plans and schedules. * Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and favorable commercial terms. * Prepare and issue RFQs, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and procurement documentation. * Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment in accordance with project schedules. * Coordinate with Logistics Coordinator and Storekeeper to monitor material delivery, storage, and inventory control. **Technical & Commercial Coordination** * Work closely with Technical Engineering and Project Teams to ensure procured materials comply with project specifications and approved standards. * Coordinate material submittals, technical approvals, and supplier documentation with consultants and clients. * Evaluate technical and commercial offers from vendors and subcontractors. * Support value engineering initiatives and cost-saving procurement strategies. * Coordinate with Contracts/Commercial Department regarding subcontractor packages, pricing, and contractual compliance. **Vendor & Supplier Management** * Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors. * Conduct supplier evaluations and maintain approved vendor lists. * Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, compliance, and commercial performance. * Resolve procurement-related issues, delays, and supply chain challenges proactively. **Project Support & Reporting** * Coordinate with site teams to monitor procurement progress and project material requirements. * Prepare procurement schedules, tracking reports, and cost analysis reports for management review. * Monitor procurement budgets and support cost control initiatives. * Ensure accurate procurement records, documentation, and reporting systems are maintained. **Compliance & Quality** * Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures, project specifications, and UAE regulations. * Maintain quality standards and ensure all procured materials meet approved technical requirements. * Support QA/QC and HSE requirements related to procured products and suppliers. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. * Minimum 5–10 years of procurement experience in the UAE/GCC construction industry. * Strong knowledge of construction materials, subcontracting, procurement processes, and supply chain management. * Experience working with main contractors on building, commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects. * Strong technical understanding of Civil, Architectural, and MEP materials and systems. * Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills. * Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and procurement tracking tools. * Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement packages simultaneously.
