Purchasing Officer

**Job Purpose** The Purchase Officer is responsible for procuring MEP materials required for construction projects while ensuring timely delivery, cost optimization, and compliance with project specifications. The role involves supplier sourcing, quotation analysis, purchase order management, vendor negotiations, and close coordination with project teams to ensure uninterrupted project execution. Key Responsibilities * Procure MEP materials including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV as per approved project requirements. * Obtain quotations from approved suppliers, evaluate commercial and technical offers, and prepare purchase recommendations. * Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings. * Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure accurate documentation in accordance with company procurement procedures. * Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and Storekeepers to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials. * Monitor procurement activities and proactively follow up with suppliers to avoid delays and material shortages. * Review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material specifications, and MEP drawings to understand procurement requirements. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and identify alternative vendors for critical materials. * Maintain procurement records, supplier databases, and update ERP/procurement software with purchase transactions. * Support cost control initiatives by obtaining competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. * Resolve supplier-related issues including delivery delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies. * Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, project requirements, and contractual obligations. * Prepare procurement reports and provide regular updates on material status to management. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. * Professional procurement certification is an added advantage. Experience Required * **3–5 years of UAE experience** in MEP procurement, preferably within the construction or MEP contracting industry. Technical Skills * Strong knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and ELV materials. * Ability to interpret BOQs, material specifications, technical submittals, and MEP drawings. * Good understanding of UAE suppliers and local procurement practices. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/Procurement software. * Knowledge of procurement documentation, purchase order processing, and inventory coordination.
