QA/QC Engineer

Job Title **QA/QC Engineer (Contracting Experience)** Job Summary The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance and quality control systems on contracting projects to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements. The role involves inspections, documentation, coordination with consultants and clients, and continuous improvement of quality processes throughout the project lifecycle. Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Control * Develop, implement, and monitor the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in line with contract requirements. * Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and specifications (ISO, ASTM, BS, ACI, ASME, etc.). * Conduct inspections and tests for materials, workmanship, and construction activities. * Review method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and procedures prior to execution. Site Inspections & Monitoring * Perform routine site inspections to ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications. * Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues. * Identify non-conformities and issue NCRs; follow up on corrective and preventive actions. Documentation & Reporting * Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test results, and as-built documentation. * Prepare and submit QA/QC reports to clients, consultants, and project management. * Ensure proper document control of quality-related records. Coordination & Communication * Liaise with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors regarding quality matters. * Coordinate material inspections, testing, and approvals with laboratories and suppliers. * Support audits (internal and external) and client inspections. Continuous Improvement * Monitor subcontractor quality performance and provide guidance where required. * Recommend improvements to construction processes to enhance quality and efficiency. * Ensure lessons learned are captured and implemented in ongoing and future projects. Qualifications & Experience * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline). * Minimum **X years of experience** as a QA/QC Engineer in **contracting companies**. * Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and quality standards. * Experience working with consultants, clients, and subcontractors. Skills & Competencies * Strong understanding of QA/QC systems and ISO 9001 requirements. * Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts. * Excellent inspection, reporting, and documentation skills. * Good communication and coordination abilities. * Proficient in MS Office and quality management software. Certifications (Preferred) * ISO 9001 Internal Auditor * CSWIP / AWS / NDT Level II (as applicable) * PMP or equivalent (advantage) Working Conditions * Site-based role with frequent inspections. * May require working extended hours to meet project deadlines.
