QA/QC Engineer - pressure vessel and heat exchanger

Job Title: QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical Job Summary We are seeking an accomplished and results-driven QA/QC Manager with extensive experience in pressure vessel and heat exchanger manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in ASME-coded equipment, strong familiarity with TEMA standards, and a proven track record within large-scale industrial environments. The QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical construction, installation, fabrication, and commissioning activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and client quality requirements. The role involves inspection, documentation, coordination with project teams, and implementation of quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle, particularly within pressure vessel and heat exchanger manufacturing and installation environments. Key Responsibilities * Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO and client requirements * Review and approve mechanical drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and procedures * Conduct inspections for mechanical works including: * Piping systems * Structural steel * Tanks * Pressure vessels * Rotating and static equipment * Monitor fabrication, installation, welding, and testing activities to ensure compliance with approved standards * Coordinate and witness NDT activities (RT, UT, PT, MT) and review test results * Ensure welding activities comply with approved WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications * Prepare and maintain inspection reports, NCRs, punch lists, and quality records * Liaise with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, and subcontractors on quality matters * Participate in internal audits, quality meetings, and site inspections * Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities from a QA/QC perspective * Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and effectively closed Requirements/Experience * Minimum 5 to 8 years of QA/QC experience in mechanical works * Strong experience in pressure vessel and heat exchanger industry * Experience in fabrication, inspection, and testing activities * Prior experience in UAE / Middle East projects preferred Qualifications * Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering * OR * Diploma / Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering with strong fabrication experience and QA/QC trainingTechnical Knowledge * Strong knowledge of international codes and standards: * ASME Section VIII Div I & II * API 661 * TEMA Standards * ASTM / ISO and other relevant standards * Familiarity with ASME Authorized Inspector (AI) interface * Experience in ASME Section VIII vessel fabrication oversight Certifications (Preferred) * AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / CSWIP * ASNT Level II (RT, UT, MT, PT) * Internal Auditor (ISO 9001) Work Location: In person
