Safety Officer

**Job Title:** Safety Officer – (Only Construction experience) **Department:** Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) **Location:** Dubai, Business Bay **Salary**: Competitive as per market. **Experience required:** 7 to 10 years (Mandatory) **Job Summary:** The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health and safety standards across construction sites. The role ensures full compliance with company HSE policies, local authority regulations, and international safety standards, while promoting a strong safety culture on-site. The candidate must have extensive hands-on experience in construction safety with a minimum of 10 years’ experience. **Key Responsibilities:** * Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements. * Ensure compliance with UAE local authority regulations, project safety requirements, and company HSE policies. * Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and toolbox talks. * Identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. * Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed incident reports and root cause analysis. * Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, lifting operations, confined spaces, hot works, and excavation works. * Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safety rules among employees, subcontractors, and visitors. * Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure safe work practices. * Maintain HSE records, permits, registers, and statutory documentation. * Conduct safety inductions and ongoing safety training for site personnel. * Liaise with consultants, clients, and regulatory authorities during inspections and audits. * Lead emergency preparedness drills and ensure readiness for fire, medical, and site emergencies. **Qualifications & Certifications:** * Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field. * **NEBOSH** (mandatory). * OSHA / IOSH certification (preferred). * First Aid & Fire Fighting certification * Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry.
