Senior Accountant – Construction & Contracting

**Job Title: Senior Accountant – Construction & Contracting** **Location:** Riyadh, Saudi Arabia **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Industry:** Construction / Contracting / Infrastructure **Position Overview** We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join our contracting company in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing full-cycle accounting operations, project-based financial control, and regulatory compliance within the construction industry. The role requires strong expertise in construction accounting, cost control, Saudi VAT regulations, and ERP systems, along with the ability to support strategic financial planning and reporting. **Key Responsibilities** * Manage end-to-end accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), payroll, and bank reconciliations. * Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards. * Oversee project costing, progress billing, retention management, subcontractor payments, and variation order tracking. * Ensure full compliance with Saudi VAT, Zakat regulations, and other statutory requirements. * Monitor cash flow, prepare forecasts, and support budgeting and financial planning processes. * Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes. * Review journal entries, payment vouchers, expense claims, and accounting documentation. * Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and inventory records. * Prepare detailed MIS reports and financial analysis for senior management. * Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking and financial reporting across projects. **Requirements** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. * 5–8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a contracting or construction company (mandatory). * Strong understanding of Saudi VAT, Zakat regulations, and financial compliance requirements. * Hands-on experience with project-based accounting and cost control systems. * Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or equivalent. * Advanced Excel skills and strong financial reporting capability. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. * Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
