**Job Title: Senior Accountant (Engineering Consultancy – Dubai)** **Location:** Dubai, UAE **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Industry:** Engineering Consultancy **Availability:** Immediate Joiners Preferred **About Us:** We are a well-established engineering consultancy firm based in Dubai, providing a range of architectural, structural, and MEP design services to clients across the UAE. With a focus on technical excellence and timely project delivery, we are now seeking a **Senior Accountant** who can independently manage all aspects of accounting and finance in our growing organization. **Position Overview:** The Senior Accountant will be solely responsible for the full spectrum of financial operations and reporting. This is a **standalone role** – you will be the **only accountant** in the company, requiring both strategic oversight and hands-on execution of all accounting functions. **Key Responsibilities:** * **Full-cycle accounting** including GL, AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and journal entries * Manage and maintain accurate records in **QuickBooks** * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual **financial statements and reports** * Handle **VAT computation, filing, and compliance** with FTA regulations * Process payroll and ensure compliance with UAE labor laws * Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities * Create and monitor company budgets, forecasts, and cash flow * Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules * Support management in strategic planning through financial analysis * Prepare project-specific financial summaries and cost allocations * Ensure accurate recording of intercompany and contractor transactions **Required Qualifications and Skills:** Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA/ACCA preferred) Minimum **5 years of accounting experience**, with at least **4 years in the UAE** **Proficient in QuickBooks** – including setup, usage, and reporting Strong knowledge of **UAE VAT regulations and compliance** Experience working independently – preferably in an SME or standalone accounting role Excellent knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) Proficient in MS Excel, and other accounting and ERP tools Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication in English Familiarity with the **engineering or consultancy** sector is an advantage **Strict Eligibility Checklist – Do Not Apply Unless You Meet All the Below Criteria:** Based in **Dubai or willing to relocate immediately** **Fluent user of QuickBooks** with demonstrable hands-on experience Have **worked as a sole or lead accountant** in a small to mid-sized company Proven experience with **VAT filing and financial statement preparation** Able to join **immediately or within 30 days** Can provide **professional references** from prior employers **No dependability on external accountants** – must be fully self-reliant Job Type: Full-time Pay: AED3,500.00 - AED6,000.00 per month Education: * Bachelor's (Required) Experience: * QuickBooks: 1 year (Required) * UAE VAT filing: 2 years (Required) * lead accountant in a mid-sized company: 4 years (Preferred) Language: * Arabic (Preferred) Location: * Dubai (Required) Work Location: In person
