Senior Environment and Sustainability Manager

**Overview** ------------ The Senior Environment & Sustainability Manager will lead and oversee all environmental and sustainability initiatives for a large-scale hospitality development in a remote location in KSA. The role ensures compliance with local regulations, international standards, and ESG commitments while embedding sustainable practices across design, construction, and operations phases. **Your role** ------------- **Environmental Management** * Lead the development and implementation of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP). * Ensure compliance with Saudi environmental regulations (e.g., NCEC, PME) and international standards (IFC, ISO 14001). * Monitor environmental performance including: * Air quality. * Noise and vibration. * Water usage and quality. * Waste management. * Conduct environmental risk assessments and mitigation planning. **Sustainability Strategy** * Develop and implement project-wide sustainability strategy aligned with Vision 2030. * Integrate sustainability into: * Design (energy-efficient and low-carbon solutions). * Procurement (sustainable materials). * Construction practices. * Drive green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM, Mostadam, or equivalent). **ESG & Reporting** * Establish KPIs and track project performance against ESG goals. * Prepare sustainability reports for internal and external stakeholders. * Ensure compliance with investor and client sustainability commitments. **Waste & Resource Management** * Implement zero waste / circular economy initiatives. * Optimize water and energy consumption, especially in remote environments. * Lead carbon footprint reduction initiatives and reporting. **Stakeholder & Regulatory Interface** * Liaise with: * Government authorities. * Environmental agencies. * Consultants and contractors. * Manage environmental permits and approvals. * Represent the project in sustainability forums and audits. **Team Leadership** * Lead a team of environmental and sustainability professionals. * Provide training and awareness programs for project staff and contractors. * Foster a culture of environmental responsibility across site operations. **Remote Site Challenges** * Develop innovative solutions for: * Limited resources and logistics constraints. * Water scarcity and energy optimization. * Ensure sustainability practices are practical and scalable in a remote setting. **About you** ------------- **Qualifications** * Bachelor'S or Master's degree in: * Environmental Science. * Sustainability. * Environmental Engineering or related field. **Experience** * 15+ years of experience in environmental and sustainability management. * Proven experience in: * Hospitality, mega projects, or large infrastructure developments. * Remote or challenging site environments (preferably Middle East/KSA). * Experience with green certification frameworks (LEED, BREEAM, Mostadam). **Technical Skills** * Strong knowledge of: * Environmental regulations in KSA. * ESG frameworks. * Carbon accounting and lifecycle assessment. * Experience with environmental monitoring and reporting tools. **Leadership Competencies** * Strong stakeholder management skills. * Strategic thinking and problem-solving. * Ability to operate in remote and high-pressure environments * Excellent communication and influencing skills. **Preferred Certifications** * LEED AP / BREEAM Assessor / Mostadam. * ISO 14001 Lead Auditor. * Sustainability or ESG certifications. **Rewards & benefits** ---------------------- Explore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive – at every stage of your life and your career.
