Senior Façade Designer

Job Title: Senior Façade Designer **Location:** Doha, Qatar **Employment Type:** Full-Time **Industry:** Aluminum & Glass / Façade Engineering / Construction Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Façade Designer to join our team in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in aluminum and glass façade systems and the ability to lead and coordinate a façade design team for high-rise, commercial, residential, and industrial projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership capability, and hands-on experience in façade detailing, shop drawings, coordination, and project execution. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Technical Responsibilities * Develop façade design concepts, system details, and technical solutions based on architectural and structural requirements. * Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings using AutoCAD and related software. * Review architectural and structural drawings and ensure façade systems are coordinated accurately. * Design curtain walls, cladding systems, skylights, louvers, doors, windows, and aluminum/glass façade systems. * Ensure compliance with project specifications, international façade standards, and local Qatar regulations. * Coordinate with consultants, architects, project managers, structural engineers, and site teams. * Conduct material and system selection considering aesthetics, performance, cost efficiency, and constructability. * Support mock-up reviews, technical submissions, and material approvals. * Assist site teams during installation and resolve technical issues when required. Leadership & Team Management * Lead and supervise the façade design team to ensure timely project delivery. * Allocate design tasks and monitor team productivity and drawing quality. * Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance. * Coordinate with estimation, production, procurement, and project departments. * Attend project meetings and represent the design department professionally. Requirements * Degree/Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. * Minimum 6–10 years of experience in façade design within the aluminum and glass industry. * Proven experience leading façade design teams and handling multiple projects. * Strong knowledge of curtain wall systems, cladding systems, structural glazing, and façade engineering principles. * Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD. * Knowledge of Revit, Rhino, SolidWorks, or other 3D software is an advantage. * Strong understanding of fabrication and installation processes. * Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings. * Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. * GCC experience, preferably in Qatar or UAE, is highly preferred. Preferred Qualifications * Familiarity with Qatar Construction Standards (QCS). * Experience working on high-rise and large-scale commercial projects. * Knowledge of thermal performance, wind load calculations, and façade testing requirements. * Familiarity with leading façade system suppliers and materials used in the GCC market.
