DESIGNATION: SR. PLANNING ENGINEER LOCATION: DUBAI, UAE EMPLOYMENT TYPE: FULL-TIME EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 15 YEARS (10 UAE EXPERIENCE) AVAILABILITY: IMMEDIATE INDUSTRY: ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY HOW TO APPLY: INTERESTED CANDIDATES MAY SEND THEIR CVs TO [email protected] JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Planning Engineer to support project scheduling, monitoring, and progress reporting. The role involves reviewing contractor work programmes, ensuring compliance with contractual and client requirements, coordinating with project teams, and assisting the Project Director in managing timelines and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with CPM scheduling, and the ability to translate programme data into actionable insights. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Review and provide feedback on contractor work programmes, schedules, and progress reports, and report findings to the Project Director (PD) * Assist the Senior Resident Engineer in identifying and communicating programme shortfalls to the Critical Path Method (CPM) team * Monitor work programmes and progress, ensuring reported status accurately reflects site achievements; report concerns or key progress points to the PD * Attend planning meetings with the PD and contractors and provide planning-related suggestions or information as needed * Scrutinize contractor work programmes for logic, critical paths, floats, lags, and resource allocation, providing comments to the PD * Coordinate closely with the contractor’s planning team to ensure work programmes meet contractual and client requirements * Ensure contractor schedules are prepared using CPM methodology, within specified timeframes, and include sufficient detail to demonstrate activity sequences, costs, and resources * Support the PD in evaluating Extension of Time (EoT) claims submitted by contractors * Assist in preparing bi-weekly and monthly project progress reports * Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality of works and compliance with drawings and specifications * Participate in the handover of completed work orders EXPERIENCE * Proven experience in project planning and scheduling for construction or engineering projects * Strong knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and project control techniques * Experience reviewing contractor work programmes, progress reports, and EoT claims * Familiarity with progress reporting, site monitoring, and handover procedures SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent coordination and communication with contractors, engineers, and project teams * Proficient in project management and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) * Detail-oriented with the ability to translate programme data into actionable recommendations * Knowledge of construction processes, drawings, and specifications Pay: From AED20,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
