Site Engineer

**Site Engineer** **Location:** UAE We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer with expertise in Micro Tunnelling and Tunnel Boring Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing site execution, ensuring quality and safety compliance, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting the successful delivery of underground utility and tunnelling projects. Key Responsibilities **Site Execution & Operations** * Supervise construction of drive shafts and reception shafts. * Monitor and manage micro tunnelling and pipe jacking operations. * Oversee slurry system operations and machine excavation activities. * Ensure project activities are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and schedules. **Design & Planning** * Review tunnel alignments, construction drawings, and technical specifications. * Calculate and assess jacking forces and operational parameters. * Verify the structural integrity and suitability of jacking pipes and associated components. * Support project planning and method statement preparation. **Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)** * Develop, implement, and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). * Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards. * Monitor, document, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). * Ensure compliance with client requirements and local authority regulations. **Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)** * Assess ground conditions and identify potential project risks. * Enforce strict HSE policies and procedures on-site. * Monitor settlement, groundwater conditions, and hydrostatic pressures during tunnelling activities. * Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety audits. **Coordination & Stakeholder Management** * Serve as the primary liaison between project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and municipal authorities. * Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical teams, and utility stakeholders. * Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and site documentation. **Qualifications & Experience** * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. * Minimum 5 years of experience in Micro Tunnelling, Pipe Jacking, or Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) operations. * Strong understanding of underground utility construction and trenchless technology. * Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, HSE regulations, and project documentation. * Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications. * Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. **Preferred Skills** * Experience working on infrastructure and utility projects within the UAE or GCC. * Familiarity with municipal authority requirements and approval processes. * Strong analytical and reporting capabilities. * Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
