Site Engineer

**JOB DESCRIPTION: MEP SITE ENGINEER (VRF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)** **Job Title:** MEP Site Engineer **Location:** Dubai, UAE **Experience Required:** 3–4 years (minimum) in Dubai/UAE **Reports to:** MEP Project Manager / Construction Manager **Role Summary** We are seeking a highly motivated **MEP Site Engineer** with a minimum of **3–4 years of hands-on experience in Dubai** to oversee the day-to-day execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works on site. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical knowledge of **VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) air conditioning systems**, electrical distribution, and drainage/water supply systems. The role demands a proactive engineer who can coordinate with subcontractors, ensure quality control, and maintain project schedules in compliance with Dubai Municipality and DEWA regulations. **Key Responsibilities1. VRF AC Systems** * Supervise the installation of **VRF outdoor units, indoor units, refrigerant piping**, and condensate drainage as per manufacturer specifications (e.g., Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Samsung, or similar). * Ensure proper **refrigerant pipe routing, brazing quality, insulation**, and pressure testing. * Coordinate with the commissioning team for **refrigerant charging**, system balancing, and controller integration (wired/wireless, BMS interfaces). * Troubleshoot installation issues related to refrigerant line lengths, branch selectors, and oil traps. **2. Electrical Works** * Supervise all **low-current and power electrical installations** including LV switchgear, distribution boards (DBs), cabling, conduits, and earthing systems. * Coordinate VRF electrical connections (power supply, inter-unit communication cables, remote controllers). * Ensure compliance with **DEWA regulations** and electrical safety standards (e.g., cable sizing, segregation of ELV/LV, termination quality). * Oversee site-based testing such as insulation resistance, continuity, and polarity checks. **3. Plumbing & Drainage Works** * Supervise installation of **domestic water supply lines (GI/PVC/PEX)** , soil/waste/vent (SWV) pipes, and drainage networks. * Ensure proper slope, fixing, jointing, and pressure testing of plumbing systems. * Coordinate with civil teams for **sleeves, floor penetrations, and water-proofing** around pipe penetrations. * Oversee installation of **water heaters, pumps, sump pits, and grease traps** where applicable. **4. Site Coordination & Quality Control** * Read, interpret, and raise RFIs for discrepancies in **MEP shop drawings, single-line diagrams, and schematics**. * Coordinate with civil, architectural, and other trade engineers to resolve **spatial clashes** (use of Navisworks/BIM is a plus). * Monitor daily site progress, prepare **daily/weekly reports**, and track manpower/resource allocation. * Conduct **material inspections** with consultant/client and ensure approved material submittals match delivered items. **5. Compliance & Safety** * Ensure all MEP installations comply with: * **Dubai Municipality (DM)** regulations * **DEWA** electrical and water connection rules * **Civil Defence (DCD)** fire and life safety codes (relevant to MEP interfaces) * **Manufacturer specs** for VRF equipment * Enforce site HSE policies, conduct toolbox talks, and report any near misses or incidents.
