We are seeking an authoritative, technically exceptional **Site Engineer (Mechanical / HVAC & FF)** to lead the supervision of complex mechanical infrastructure, climate control, and life safety installations on-site. **Position Summary** The Senior Site Engineer (Mechanical) will manage the entire lifecycle of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection works on-site—from heavy central plant installations to fine architectural air distribution. This role demands an exceptional combination of deep thermal/hydraulic engineering knowledge (chiller plants, high-rise pumping, fire life safety systems) and a meticulous eye for coordinating spatial constraints. You will be responsible for enforcing contract compliance, verifying strict technical specifications, eliminating duct/pipe containment clashes, and leading testing and balancing to guarantee an optimized, defect-free project handover. Key Responsibilities **1. HVAC & Climate Control Infrastructure** * **Design & Code Compliance:** Oversee, inspect, and approve daily mechanical execution on-site to ensure 100% compliance with approved shop drawings, Issued for Construction (IFC) schematics, and international standards (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, and local authority regulations). * **Central Plant Verification:** Supervise the installation, alignment, and vibration isolation of heavy equipment, including centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, primary/secondary chilled water pumps, and Air Handling Units (AHUs). * **Ductwork & Air Distribution:** Monitor the fabrication, insulation, and installation of specialized ductwork, fire dampers, and variable air volume (VAV) boxes, ensuring strict adherence to SMACNA air leakage standards. * **Premium Acoustic & Thermal Control:** Ensure high-end insulation execution, acoustic lining, and sound attenuator installations to maintain strict luxury noise criteria (NC levels) within premium indoor spaces. **2. Plumbing, Public Health & High-Rise Hydraulics** * **High-Rise Pumping Systems:** Supervise the installation of complex plumbing infrastructure, including hydro-pneumatic booster pumping systems, water filtration plants, domestic water storage tanks, and high-pressure PRV (Pressure Reducing Valve) stations across high-rise zones. * **Drainage & Piping Integrity:** Oversee high-density polyethylene (HDPE), copper, and PPR piping systems for drainage, soil, waste, and rainwater, ensuring exact slopes, acoustic pipe insulation, and robust expansion joints. * **Luxury Sanitary Fit-Out:** Coordinate with the architectural finishing team to oversee the exact final positioning, flushing, and pressure testing of premium, concealed sanitary fixtures, wall-hung WC frames, and high-end drainage channels. **3. Fire Fighting & Life Safety Systems** * **Fire Suppression Networks:** Rigorously inspect the installation of wet-riser systems, fire sprinkler networks, zone control valves, and specialized clean-agent gas suppression systems (e.g., FM-200 / Novec) for critical IT/electrical rooms. * **High-Rise Fire Pump Stations:** Supervise the installation, piping alignment, and performance testing of dedicated fire pump sets (electric, diesel, and jockey pumps) in strict compliance with **NFPA codes**. * **Smoke Management Integration:** Oversee the installation and sealing of dedicated staircase pressurization fans, smoke extraction systems, and their motorized dampers, ensuring seamless operational interfaces during life safety emergency testing. **4. Spatial Coordination, Testing & Site Digitalization** * **Spatial Clash Resolution:** Proactively manage spatial coordination within dense ceiling voids and vertical MEP shafts, resolving geometric conflicts between large HVAC ducts, gravity drainage lines, electrical busbars, and structural PT slabs. * **Testing, Balancing & Commissioning (T&C):** Lead and witness critical mechanical testing protocols, including hydro-testing of chilled water piping, duct smoke testing, air and water balancing (TAB), and integrated Building Management System (BMS) testing. * **Digital Reporting:** Actively utilize HAOarchitect’s digital project management platforms to log daily mechanical progress, upload photographic evidence of inspections, flag coordination bottlenecks, and provide management with real-time site updates.
