Technical Engineer

UPTOWN Technical Services LLC is seeking a highly organized and technically competent **Technical Engineer / QAQC Engineer** to manage project documentation, technical submissions, quality control processes, and consultant approvals for construction, fit-out, renovation, and MEP projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and coordinating all technical documentation from project commencement to handover, including material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, inspection requests, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals, while ensuring full compliance with project specifications, consultant requirements, and applicable authority regulations. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Submissions * Prepare and submit Material Submittals in accordance with project specifications. * Prepare and submit Technical Submittals for consultant approval. * Review project specifications, BOQs, and IFC drawings. * Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain technical data sheets, certifications, warranties, and test reports. * Track and follow up on all pending approvals. Shop Drawings & Coordination * Review and coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, ELV, and FLS shop drawings. * Ensure shop drawings comply with contract documents and approved materials. * Coordinate drawing submissions and consultant comments. * Manage revisions and resubmissions until final approval. Method Statements & Quality Documentation * Prepare Method Statements for all construction activities. * Prepare Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). * Prepare Risk Assessments and Work Procedures. * Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards. Quality Control * Conduct site inspections and quality audits. * Raise and monitor Material Inspection Requests (MIRs). * Raise and monitor Work Inspection Requests (WIRs). * Ensure only approved materials are installed on site. * Monitor workmanship quality and compliance with approved drawings. * Identify and rectify non-conformities. * Prepare and close NCRs and corrective action reports. Project Documentation * Maintain project document control systems. * Prepare As-Built Drawings. * Compile Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals. * Prepare handover documentation and close-out reports. * Maintain quality records and inspection logs. Authority & Consultant Coordination * Coordinate with consultants and authorities regarding approvals and inspections. * Attend consultant meetings and technical discussions. * Respond to consultant comments and technical queries. * Prepare RFIs (Requests for Information) when required. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. * Minimum 3–5 years of UAE construction or fit-out experience. * Experience in Civil, Architectural, MEP, and Interior Fit-Out projects. * Strong understanding of consultant approval procedures. * Familiarity with Abu Dhabi and UAE authority requirements. * UAE Driving License preferred. Technical Skills Mandatory * Preparation of Material Submittals. * Preparation of Method Statements. * Preparation of ITPs. * Preparation of MIRs and WIRs. * Shop Drawing Review and Coordination. * NCR Management. * As-Built Drawing Preparation. * O&M Manual Compilation. * Microsoft Office Suite. * AutoCAD. Preferred * Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. * Experience with Aconex, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms. * Familiarity with Civil Defense and authority approval procedures.
