Technology & Platform Lead Payment Gateway / PSP Ecosystem **Role Purpose** The Technology & Platform Lead will be responsible for the overall technical direction, payment platform architecture, software development planning, and integration delivery for the company’s payment gateway services. This is a senior hands-on leadership role. The selected candidate must be able to initially operate individually, lead technical discussions with merchants and acquiring partners, and later build a wider technology and development team as the business scales. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead the technical design and architecture of the payment gateway platform. * Define and manage the technology roadmap for merchant onboarding, payment processing, acquiring integrations, reporting, settlement, and reconciliation. * Lead integrations with acquiring banks, payment processors, PSPs, fraud tools, banking partners, and third-party service providers. * Review and interpret API documentation from acquiring providers across Asian and European markets. * Support different integration models, including server-to-server APIs, hosted payment pages, webhooks, tokenization, recurring payments, and merchant plug-ins. * Work directly with merchants to understand technical requirements and guide them through integration, testing, certification, and go-live. * Coordinate with acquiring partners and technical vendors to resolve integration issues and transaction processing defects. * Define internal technical documentation, merchant integration guides, sandbox testing procedures, and production release processes. * Support development of backend payment services, transaction routing, refund, void, capture, payout, settlement, chargeback, and reporting workflows. * Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, reliable, and suitable for cross-border payment gateway operations. * Initially act as the main technology owner and later support hiring of backend developers, integration engineers, QA engineers, and technical support staff. **Required Experience** * Previous experience in a Payment Service Provider, payment gateway, acquiring bank, fintech, or merchant processing environment. * Strong understanding of payment gateway architecture and the full transaction life cycle. * Experience with acquiring provider APIs and payment processor integrations. * Familiarity with European and Asian acquiring markets. * Knowledge of authorization, capture, refund, void, chargeback, settlement, reconciliation, and merchant reporting. * Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, JSON/XML, tokenization, 3DS, fraud checks, and merchant onboarding flows. * Ability to lead technical discussions with merchants, acquirers, PSPs, vendors, and internal stakeholders. * Hands-on ability to work independently in an early-stage setup. **Preferred Skills** * Experience with multi-currency processing and cross-border payments. * Exposure to e-commerce merchant integrations. Understanding of fraud tools such as MaxMind, Ekata, or similar systems. * Familiarity with cloud-based payment platforms. Ability to prepare technical documentation and integration manuals.
