Accountant

Lark Engineering Company is a growing engineering and construction company specializing in civil works. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced **Accountant** to join our finance team and support the company's day-to-day financial operations. Key Responsibilities: * Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are properly recorded. * Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and monthly financial reports. * Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. * Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow. * Process supplier payments and follow up on outstanding customer payments. * Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority regulations. * Assist in payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements. * Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules. * Support month-end and year-end closing activities. * Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation. * Monitor project costs, petty cash, and expense allocations. * Coordinate with project teams regarding invoices, purchase orders, and payment approvals. * Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. * Prepare financial reports and analyses for management. * Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned by management. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction, engineering, or MEP industry. * UAE accounting experience is preferred. * Good knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and financial reporting. * Proficiency in accounting software such as Odoo, Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. * Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
