Accounting Manager

Role Overview ZeroCarb LYFE is hiring an experienced **Accounting Manager** to own day-to-day accounting, monthly close, financial reporting, controls, inventory accounting, COGS, and recurring management reporting. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable building structure in a fast-moving food and e-commerce startup. Responsibilities * Manage the monthly close and financial reporting process. * Review the general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, AP, AR, and fixed assets. * Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. * Produce weekly and monthly management reports. * Maintain cash-flow and working-capital tracking. * Manage COGS, inventory, costing, and gross-margin reporting. * Prepare budget-versus-actual analysis and explain key variances. * Work with supply chain and operations to validate cost and inventory data. * Strengthen accounting controls, documentation, and approval workflows. * Support audits, tax filings, financial reviews, and diligence requests. * Improve accounting processes, templates, trackers, and system utilization. Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * 7+ years of progressive accounting experience. * Previous experience in an Accounting Manager, Chief Accountant, Finance Manager, or similar role. * Strong monthly close and financial statement preparation experience. * Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, AP, AR, accruals, and controls. * Experience with COGS, inventory accounting, costing, or product-based businesses. * Advanced Excel skills. * Experience with an ERP or accounting platform. * Strong written and verbal English. * Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications * Food, FMCG, manufacturing, retail, distribution, or e-commerce experience. * Experience supporting a U.S.-based or international company. * Audit or Big Four background. * CMA, CPA, IFRS, or similar qualification. * Experience with QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.
