How can you make a difference?
The overall objective of this consultancy is to strengthen Iraq's climate governance and data systems and to expand access to climate finance, by supporting the establishment and operationalization of a Climate Information Unit within the Ministry of Environment and by providing technical support to the NDC water sector action plan, the NAP process, loss and damage work, GCF proposal preparation and DRR programming.

Minimum Requirements
Education
Master’s degrees in environmental science, climate change, water resources management, environmental engineering, data/information management, public policy, economics or a related field
Years Of Experience/ Knowledge/Expertise/Skills Required
At least eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in climate change policy, environmental governance, climate/environmental data and information systems, or climate finance.
Demonstrated experience working with the Government of Iraq, preferably with the Ministry of Environment and/or line ministries, on climate, environment, water or data-related assignments.
Proven knowledge of national and international climate frameworks, including the NDC and NAP processes under the UNFCCC, loss and damage, and climate finance mechanisms such as the Green Climate Fund.
Demonstrated experience in institutional development, establishing units or coordination mechanisms, and/or designing data governance and management systems.
Experience in ICT system development, infrastructure, databases and digital platforms for secure and efficient information flow.
Experience in preparing funding proposals for international climate or development finance is a strong asset.
Familiarity with child-sensitive and gender-responsive approaches (children, women and girls) and with the s
