Overview of position The ELISS Project Objective is to address critical problems related to living standards of conflict-affected people with acute needs by expanding equitable access to services with particular attention to the distinct needs and vulnerabilities of women and girls. The project’s expected outcome is to improve living conditions of the population in the targeted areas of Sinjar district (Ninewa Governorate). In line with Phases I, II and III of the LIRA projects, the activities under ELISS Project take place in rural areas (as a priority) in Sinjar. The main component of the project is construction and rehabilitation of war damaged houses, construction and rehabilitation of drinking water supply stations including water wells construction and development; capacity building of private and public sector in Sinjar district under the Ninewa Governorate of Iraq.
