Mechanical Engineer

**Job Purpose:** The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for managing and supervising mechanical MEP works for building construction projects, ensuring that HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical systems are installed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, quality standards, and Qatar requirements. **Key Responsibilities** * Supervise and coordinate mechanical works for building construction projects. * Review approved **MEP/shop drawings, specifications, material submittals, and method statements**. * Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, drainage, and other mechanical services with civil and electrical teams. * Monitor site installation activities and ensure compliance with approved drawings and project specifications. * Supervise installation of: * HVAC systems * Chillers and chilled-water systems * AHUs and FCUs * VRF/VRV systems * Ventilation and exhaust systems * Domestic water supply systems * Drainage and sewage systems * Hot water systems * Firefighting and fire protection systems * Pumps, tanks, and associated mechanical equipment * Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project management teams. * Conduct regular site inspections and ensure proper workmanship. * Review material deliveries and verify compliance with approved materials. * Monitor subcontractors' work progress and productivity. * Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. * Assist in preparing work schedules and manpower requirements. * Coordinate testing and commissioning of mechanical systems. * Prepare and follow up on inspection requests (IRs). * Identify site issues, technical problems, and discrepancies between drawings and actual conditions. * Coordinate with the design team to resolve technical issues and obtain necessary approvals. * Review and assist with **as-built drawings and O&M documentation**. * Ensure mechanical works are completed within the approved project schedule and budget. * Assist the Project Manager/MEP Manager with project planning and technical decisions. * Supervise installation and testing of HVAC systems. * Review ductwork, chilled-water piping, insulation, AHUs, FCUs, fans, pumps, and related equipment. * Monitor HVAC equipment installation according to approved shop drawings. * Coordinate ductwork and pipework with architectural, structural, and electrical requirements. * Monitor pressure testing, flushing, balancing, and commissioning activities. * Ensure proper HVAC system performance during testing and commissioning. * Supervise domestic water supply, drainage, sewage, and rainwater systems. * Monitor installation of water tanks, pumps, booster systems, and associated piping. * Supervise firefighting piping, pumps, valves, sprinkler systems, hose reels, and related equipment. * Coordinate pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning activities. * Ensure installation complies with approved drawings and relevant standards. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in **Mechanical Engineering**. * MMUP/UPDA registration is **highly preferred**. * Relevant professional certification is an advantage. * Knowledge of Qatar construction requirements and MEP standards. * Minimum **9-10 years of experience** as a Mechanical Engineer. * Minimum **5 years of experience in building construction projects** is preferred. * Qatar/GCC experience is highly preferred. * Experience with **high-rise buildings, commercial buildings, residential buildings, hotels, hospitals, malls, or mixed-use developments** is an advantage.
