Safety Officer

The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards at construction project sites. The role ensures compliance with UAE safety regulations, Trakhees requirements, client specifications, and company HSE policies. The Safety Officer will conduct site inspections, identify hazards, implement corrective actions, conduct safety training, and ensure all construction activities are performed safely and in compliance with approved procedures. The ideal candidate must be **Trakhees approved**, with **4–5 years of Dubai construction experience**. Candidates who can communicate effectively in **Hindi** with site workers will be preferred. **Key Responsibilities1. Site Safety Management** * Conduct daily site inspections to identify unsafe practices, hazards, and potential risks. * Ensure compliance with approved HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements. * Monitor construction activities including excavation, scaffolding, lifting operations, work at height, and hot works. * Ensure workers follow safe working practices and use appropriate PPE. * Implement immediate corrective actions for unsafe conditions. **2. Trakhees & UAE Regulatory Compliance** * Ensure construction activities comply with **Trakhees HSE requirements and Dubai safety regulations**. * Maintain all required HSE records and documentation for inspections and audits. * Coordinate with project teams during Trakhees inspections and client audits. * Ensure compliance with statutory safety requirements and project HSE procedures. **3. Risk Assessment & Safety Documentation** * Prepare, review, and implement: * Risk Assessments * Method Statements (RAMS) * Job Safety Analysis (JSA) * Permit-to-Work documentation * Inspection checklists * Identify hazards and recommend preventive measures. * Maintain daily safety reports, inspection records, and observation logs. **4. Toolbox Talks & Safety Training** * Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings for workers and supervisors. * Conduct safety induction training for new employees and subcontractors. * Educate workers on safe work practices, PPE usage, and emergency procedures. * Communicate safety instructions effectively to a multicultural workforce. **5. Construction Activity Monitoring** Monitor safety compliance for: * Work at height activities * Scaffolding erection and inspection * Lifting operations and crane activities * Excavation and trenching works * Electrical works * Welding and hot works * Confined space activities * Material handling and storage * Temporary works and site housekeeping **6. Incident Reporting & Investigation** * Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses. * Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive actions. * Support emergency response procedures and safety drills. * Ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions. **7. Subcontractor & Workforce Safety Control** * Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements. * Conduct regular safety inspections with subcontractor teams. * Ensure workers have valid safety training and required PPE. * Coordinate with supervisors and engineers to improve site safety performance. **8. HSE Reporting** * Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports. * Maintain records of: * Safety observations * Inspections * Toolbox talks * Training records * Incident reports * Corrective actions * Submit reports to HSE Manager / Project Manager. **Qualifications** * Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field. * **Trakhees Approved Safety Officer certification is mandatory.** * NEBOSH IGC / IOSH / OSHA certification is preferred. * Knowledge of UAE construction safety regulations. **Experience Requirements** * Minimum **4–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in Dubai construction projects**. * Experience working with contractors, consultants, and authority inspections. * Experience in high-rise buildings, commercial buildings, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects preferred. * Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and site requirements. **Technical Skills** * Strong knowledge of construction safety standards. * Good understanding of UAE HSE regulations. * Ability to prepare HSE documents and reports. * Knowledge of scaffolding, lifting, excavation, and work-at-height safety requirements. * Proficiency in MS Office applications. * Ability to conduct inspections and safety audits. **Preferred Skills** * **Hindi-speaking candidates preferred** for effective communication with workforce. * Good communication and leadership skills. * Strong observation and problem-solving ability. * Ability to work under pressure and manage site safety requirements. * Good coordination skills with engineers, supervisors, and workers. **Key Competencies** * Construction Site Safety Management * Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment * H
