Company Description The University of Mosul is a public university located in Mosul and is one of the largest educational and research centers in the Middle East, second in size in Iraq after the University of Baghdad. Established in April 1967, it grew out of the 1929 College of Medicine under the Ministry of Health. The University was founded to serve as a leading academic center of higher education for Mosul city and Iraq. It now offers accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees across more than 100 scientific specializations. Since its foundation, over 80,000 students have graduated from the University of Mosul, contributing to academic, professional, and community development in the region. Role Description The University Lecturer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mosul. The lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality lectures, seminars, and tutorials, preparing course materials and assessments, and ensuring alignment with the University’s academic standards. Daily tasks include guiding students’ learning, supervising projects or theses as appropriate to the discipline, holding office hours, and providing academic advising. The lecturer participates in curriculum development, engages in scholarly or research activities, and contributes to departmental and university committees. Collaboration with colleagues, participation in academic events, and adherence to institutional policies and quality assurance processes are integral to the role. Qualifications Advanced academic degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in a relevant discipline, from an accredited institution. Demonstrated teaching competence in higher education, including experience designing and delivering lectures, seminars, and assessments. Strong research background or scholarly activity, with the ability to contribute to the University’s research output. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse student populations in a gender-neutral and inclusive manner. Organizational and time-management skills to handle teaching, grading, student support, and committee responsibilities. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic environment and contribute to departmental development. Commitment to ethical conduct, academic integrity, and continuous professional development. Proficiency in relevant languages of instruction and, where applicable, familiarity with educational technologies and learning management systems.
