Role Description The Zoologist role at Beta Trading and Technical Co., Ltd. is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo, Egypt. The Zoologist will study and monitor animal populations and wildlife in areas related to company projects, assessing potential environmental and ecological impacts. Daily tasks include conducting field surveys, observing animal behavior, collecting and analyzing biological and ecological data, and preparing clear reports and recommendations. The role involves collaborating with engineering and project teams to support environmentally responsible practices, contributing to impact assessments, and advising on mitigation measures for wildlife and habitat protection. The Zoologist will also help develop guidelines and awareness materials to promote biodiversity conservation in project planning and execution. Qualifications Strong foundation in Zoology, with the ability to apply zoological principles in field and project environments. Practical experience in Animal Care and Wildlife handling and observation, with attention to safety and ethical standards. Knowledge of Ecology and habitat assessment, including the ability to evaluate environmental impacts of construction or infrastructure projects. Experience studying Animal Behavior, including designing and conducting behavioral observations and interpreting findings. Relevant academic background, such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Zoology, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, or a closely related field. Ability to conduct fieldwork in diverse outdoor conditions, including data collection, sampling, and species identification. Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills, with proficiency in using basic data analysis tools and office software. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with non-specialist colleagues. Familiarity with environmental regulations, impact assessment processes, and biodiversity conservation principles is an advantage. Previous experience in infrastructure, environmental consulting, or construction-related projects in Egypt or similar contexts is a plus.
