Terms of Use

By using ToBe, you agree to these terms. The app is intended for people aged 13 and over only, and signing up requires confirming this.

You sign in with a Google account (or Apple on iOS) and choose a unique pseudonym — it is all other people see of you. You are responsible for keeping access to your account, and for any content you publish under your pseudonym.

You may not publish any word containing threats, harassment, hate speech, other people’s personal information, advertising, links, or phone numbers. Words matching these rules are blocked automatically before publishing, and anything that slips past the automatic filter can be reported and is hidden automatically once it reaches 3 reports from different users (capped at 20 reports per day per user).

Words that explicitly signal intent to self-harm are blocked automatically before being shown to any other user and are not stored on our servers, and the person who wrote them is shown an encouraging in-app support card instead.

We reserve the right to remove any content that breaks these rules, or suspend or delete any account that does so, without prior notice in clear cases of violation.

You can report any published word or block any pseudonym (capped at 500 blocked names); blocking is personal — a blocked account cannot see your content and you will not see theirs.

ToBe is a wellbeing and community app, not a treatment app or an emergency service. It does not provide any medical or psychological diagnosis or treatment, and it does not replace seeking professional help when needed.

Any word you write remains yours; choosing to "publish" it grants us permission to display it inside the app to other users. The app’s design, icons, and stamp artwork belong to Dilmun (دلمون).

We may update these terms from time to time; continuing to use the app after an update is published counts as acceptance of it.
