AutoCAD Draftsman engineer – Exhibition Booths and Stands

The AutoCAD Draftsman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, production drawings, shop drawings, and detailed layouts for exhibition booths, event stands, kiosks, displays, and other temporary structures. The role supports the design, production, and site teams by converting approved concepts into clear and practical drawings that can be used for fabrication, installation, and dismantling. Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Drafting * Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings for exhibition booths, stands, kiosks, counters, stages, display units, and event structures. * Convert approved 3D designs and concepts into accurate 2D production and shop drawings. * Prepare floor plans, elevations, sections, construction details, and assembly drawings. * Produce detailed drawings for timber, metal, acrylic, glass, graphics, lighting, flooring, and other booth components. * Indicate dimensions, materials, finishes, fixing methods, and installation details clearly. * Prepare cutting details and fabrication drawings for use by workshop and production teams. Design Coordination * Coordinate with 3D designers, project managers, production teams, and site supervisors to understand project requirements. * Review approved concepts and identify any technical or construction-related issues. * Ensure technical drawings are practical, safe, and suitable for fabrication and site installation. * Update drawings based on client comments, production feedback, or site conditions. * Ensure all revisions are properly recorded and issued to the relevant teams. Production and Fabrication Support * Provide clear technical drawings to carpentry, metalwork, electrical, graphics, and finishing teams. * Coordinate with the workshop to clarify dimensions, materials, and fabrication methods. * Support the preparation of material requirements and quantity estimates where required. * Assist production teams in resolving drawing-related issues during fabrication. * Check that fabricated items match the approved drawings and specifications. Site and Installation Support * Prepare site layout drawings and installation details for booth build-up. * Coordinate with site teams regarding measurements, access points, venue restrictions, and installation requirements. * Conduct site visits when required to verify dimensions and site conditions. * Revise drawings where actual site conditions differ from the original information. * Provide technical support during installation, build-up, and dismantling. Compliance and Quality * Ensure drawings comply with venue regulations, safety requirements, and project specifications. * Consider structural stability, access, emergency exits, height restrictions, electrical points, and fire-safety requirements. * Maintain accuracy and consistency across all drawings. * Check drawings before submission to minimise production errors and material wastage. * Maintain proper filing and version control for all drawings. Qualifications * Diploma or degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. * AutoCAD certification is an advantage. * Relevant experience in exhibition stands, booth fabrication, interior fit-out, joinery, events, or temporary structures is preferred. Experience * Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience as an AutoCAD Draftsman. * Experience preparing production and shop drawings for exhibition booths or interior fit-out projects is highly preferred.
