Join us. **Job Description** We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with professional experience in geotechnical engineering, site investigations, and foundation design. The successful candidate will support the planning, analysis, and delivery of geotechnical solutions for infrastructure, transportation, buildings, and civil engineering projects. This role involves geotechnical investigations, interpretation of subsurface data, foundation and earthworks design, technical reporting, and construction support while working under the guidance of senior engineers. **Key Responsibilities** * Perform assigned geotechnical engineering tasks as part of multidisciplinary project teams. * Gather, review, and interpret geotechnical investigation data using established engineering procedures. * Carry out routine engineering calculations, analyses, and technical assessments. * Assist in preparing geotechnical reports, design calculations, specifications, and recommendations. * Develop practical engineering solutions to resolve technical issues encountered during project delivery. * Identify discrepancies in engineering results and escalate technical concerns where appropriate. * Provide guidance and technical support to graduate and entry-level engineers. * Deliver assigned work in accordance with approved budgets, schedules, quality standards, and project requirements under moderate supervision. * Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and consultants during design and construction phases. **Technical Responsibilities** The successful candidate should have experience in: * Geotechnical investigations. * Assessment and interpretation of geotechnical parameters. * Preparation of geotechnical ground models for various design scenarios. In addition, candidates should demonstrate experience in at least three of the following: * Shallow foundation design. * Deep foundation design. * Earthworks and embankment design. * Slope stability assessment and design. * Excavation and lateral support systems. * Ground improvement design. * Liquefaction assessment. **Qualifications** * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited university in one of the following disciplines: + Geotechnical Engineering + Civil Engineering + Engineering Geology + Geological Engineering + Foundation Engineering + Soil Mechanics + Rock Mechanics + Rock Engineering + Mining Engineering * Master's degree or PhD in a relevant discipline is preferred. * Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent professional registration is advantageous. * Relevant professional registration in Qatar, Bahrain, or the UAE is preferred where applicable. **Experience** * 2–8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering. * Experience in both geotechnical design and site/construction support is desirable. * Good understanding of contracts related to geotechnical investigations, surveys, and construction activities. * Experience on infrastructure, transportation, buildings, marine, or other major civil engineering projects is preferred. **Additional Information** **Desirable Experience** Experience in any of the following will be considered an advantage: * Geophysical surveys. * Seismic geotechnical design. * Geotechnical engineering for dam projects. * Additional experience in foundation, earthworks, slope stability, excavation support, ground improvement, and liquefaction studies. **Software Skills** Experience with the following software packages or equivalent is desirable: * Slope/W or Slide * Seep/W * PLAXIS 2D * RS2 * Sigma/W * Repute * Group * LPILE * PDisp * Settle3D * CPeT-IT * CLiq or Liquefy-Pro * Experience with 3D Finite Element Modelling (FEM) software is an advantage. *At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.* ***To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboard
