Internal Control Officer 📍 Location: Head Quarter – Erbil, KRG Iraq 🏦 Region Trade Bank Region Trade Bank is seeking qualified and motivated banking professionals to join its Internal Control Department as an Internal Control Officer at the Head Office. About the Role The Internal Control Officer is responsible for performing control and review activities over banking operations across branches, offices, and departments in accordance with the Bank's approved internal control framework, policies, and procedures. The role aims to ensure compliance with the regulations and instructions of the Central Bank of Iraq and other applicable laws and regulations while supporting a strong control environment and mitigating operational and compliance risks. Key Responsibilities Perform internal control reviews and examinations in accordance with approved policies and procedures. Review cash transactions, transfers, remittances, accounts, banking products, and banking services. Verify the accuracy and completeness of transactions and ensure alignment with supporting documents and banking systems. Review signatures, approvals, stamps, commissions, and fees in accordance with authorized limits and procedures. Prepare working papers, checklists, and documentation of control activities and findings. Identify control deficiencies, irregularities, and non-compliance cases and report them through the appropriate channels. Follow up on corrective actions and verify the implementation of required remedial measures. Prepare control reports and submit findings within established deadlines. Maintain confidentiality of information and uphold the principles of integrity, objectivity, and professional independence. Contribute to the enhancement of internal control processes and procedures. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, Banking Management, Finance and Banking Sciences, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in banking, financial, or control-related functions. Previous experience in Internal Control, Internal Audit, Risk Management, or Compliance is preferred. Good knowledge of the regulations and instructions of the Central Bank of Iraq and relevant banking policies and procedures. Strong analytical, reporting, and banking operations review skills. Ability to identify risks, irregularities, and non-compliance issues and follow up on corrective actions. Proficiency in computer applications, banking systems, and Microsoft Office. Languages Arabic: Excellent reading and writing skills. English: Very good reading and writing skills. Kurdish: Preferred. Preferred Qualifications Professional certifications or training courses in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, or Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (AML/CFT). Knowledge of governance, risk management, and banking compliance principles.
