Irrigation Engineer

The Irrigation Engineer will be responsible for irrigation system design, technical coordination, site supervision, testing, commissioning, and project delivery. The role requires strong knowledge of irrigation networks, hydraulic calculations, pumps, filtration systems, automation, and water management solutions while ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and UAE irrigation practices. Key Responsibilities1. Irrigation Design & Engineering * Prepare, review, and optimize irrigation designs, shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and as-built drawings. * Develop efficient irrigation layouts considering landscape requirements, water availability, plant requirements, and sustainability objectives. * Review irrigation BOQs, specifications, material submittals, and technical documents. * Coordinate with Landscape Architects, Designers, Consultants, Project Managers, and Engineering teams during design and pre-construction stages. * Provide technical recommendations on irrigation system design, equipment selection, and water management solutions. * Ensure designs comply with project requirements and applicable UAE standards. 2. Irrigation Installation & Site Supervision * Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of irrigation systems including: * Main and lateral pipelines * Valve networks and valve chambers * Pump stations * Filtration systems * Irrigation controllers and automation systems * Sprinkler, drip, and bubbler irrigation systems * Ensure irrigation works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules. * Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, progress, and technical compliance. * Identify and resolve installation issues, system performance problems, and technical challenges. * Ensure proper flushing, pressure testing, testing, and commissioning of completed irrigation systems. 3. Irrigation System Coordination & Optimization * Manage and optimize irrigation systems to achieve efficient water usage and sustainable landscape performance. * Coordinate with: * Project Managers * Site Engineers * Landscape teams * MEP teams * Civil teams * Consultants * Authorities * Ensure irrigation systems are properly integrated with: * Landscape works * Drainage systems * Electrical works * Civil infrastructure * Provide technical guidance and support to supervisors, technicians, and installation teams. * Support authority inspections, approvals, and project handover activities. 4. Quality Control & Documentation * Monitor irrigation installation quality and ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements. * Maintain irrigation documentation including: * Inspection reports * Material approvals * Testing records * Commissioning reports * As-built drawings * Handover documents * Assist in quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, material evaluations, and procurement activities. * Review irrigation materials and equipment to ensure technical suitability, quality, and cost effectiveness. * Prepare progress reports and support project close-out documentation. 5. Health, Safety & Sustainability * Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, project safety requirements, and UAE regulations. * Promote water conservation practices and sustainable irrigation solutions. * Support implementation of environmentally responsible landscaping practices. * Participate in site safety inspections, quality audits, and environmental improvement initiatives. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Landscape Engineering, or a related discipline. * Additional certification in irrigation design, water management, or landscape irrigation is an advantage. Experience * Minimum **4–6 years of UAE experience** in irrigation engineering, landscaping, or related construction projects. * Strong practical knowledge of: * Irrigation design * Hydraulic calculations * Pumps and pumping systems * Filtration systems * Valves and controllers * Automated irrigation systems * Drip and sprinkler systems * Experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, and government landscaping projects is preferred. * Good understanding of UAE municipality irrigation requirements and landscaping standards. Technical Skills * Strong knowledge of irrigation design, installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting. * Ability to read and interpret: * Irrigation drawings * BOQs * Specifications * Technical submissions * Method statements * Proficiency in: * AutoCAD * Microsoft Office applications * Irrigation design software (advantage) * Strong understanding of water-efficient irrigation systems and sustainable landscape practices.
