Senior Accountant

We are looking for a highly experienced **Senior Accountant** to join our project finance team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, supporting project accounting, and providing timely financial information to management. Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards. * Manage the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. * Monitor and manage company cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts * Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections and vendor payments. * Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts. * Maintain fixed asset registers. * Prepare and submit UAE VAT returns, ensuring compliance with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations. * Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. * Prepare management reports. * Coordinate with external auditors. * Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls. * Review and verify journal entries and accounting transactions. * Manage project accounting for multiple construction projects. * Monitor project budgets, actual costs, and profitability. * Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders, contracts, and goods received. * Coordinate with project managers and quantity surveyors to monitor project financial performance. * Prepare project cost reports and identify cost overruns. * Ensure proper allocation of project expenses to cost centers/cost codes. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Minimum **8 years of accounting experience**, preferably in the **construction industry**. * Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and cost accounting. * Hands-on experience with UAE VAT filing and compliance. * Experience in project accounting and construction cost control. * Proficiency in **SAP S/4HANA** is preferred. * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
