Senior Accountant – MEP Construction

We are looking to hire a highly qualified **Senior Accountant** to join our Finance Department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the **MEP construction industry** and a proven ability to manage project accounting, financial reporting, cost control, and compliance in a fast-paced contracting environment. **Qualifications** * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. * **Minimum 8 years of professional accounting experience**, with significant experience in **MEP/Construction companies**. * Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, project costing, work-in-progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and cost allocation. * Thorough understanding of UAE VAT regulations, financial reporting standards, and statutory compliance. * Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (ERP experience is highly preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. * **Arabic-speaking candidates are preferred.** **Key Responsibilities** * Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial records. * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. * Monitor project budgets, cost control, profitability analysis, and financial performance. * Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, and general ledger activities. * Prepare and submit VAT returns while ensuring full compliance with UAE regulations. * Perform project cost analysis, WIP reporting, accruals, and financial reconciliations. * Coordinate with project managers, procurement, commercial, and operations teams regarding project financial matters. * Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis. * Liaise with external auditors, banks, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.
