Senior Cost Control Engineer Job Summary The Senior Cost Control Engineer is responsible for managing project budgets, monitoring expenditures, and analyzing cost variances to ensure projects are delivered within approved financial targets. The role collaborates with project teams and stakeholders to implement cost control procedures, optimize resource allocation, mitigate financial risks, and maintain project profitability. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain project budgets in collaboration with Project Managers and stakeholders. Prepare cost forecasts and ensure effective allocation of project resources. Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns. Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for corrective actions. Prepare periodic cost reports, including budget versus actual analyses, forecasts, and financial projections. Identify financial risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies. Establish and enforce cost control procedures, policies, and reporting standards. Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and Finance teams to support project objectives. Monitor commitments, expenditures, and cost performance throughout the project lifecycle. Implement and maintain cost tracking systems and expense approval processes. Ensure accurate recording and reporting of project costs. Review and validate project cost data and supporting documentation. Support change management processes by evaluating cost impacts of variations and change orders. Continuously improve cost control processes using industry best practices and technology solutions. Mentor and provide guidance to junior cost control personnel. Support HSE initiatives and ensure compliance with company policies and IMS requirements. Job Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of Cost Management, Cost Estimating, Budgeting, and Change Control. Proficiency in cost estimating software such as CCS (Candy) is essential. Knowledge of project planning and scheduling principles. Experience with Primavera P6 , MS Office applications, and project controls tools. Knowledge of multi-project resource planning and project financial management. Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills. Understanding of project and programme management principles and methodologies. Experience with ERP systems; SAP functional knowledge is highly preferred . Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is mandatory. Professional certifications related to Cost Control, Project Controls, or Project Management are an advantage. Experience Requirements Minimum 8 years of overall experience in Cost Control, Project Controls, or related disciplines. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Cost Control Engineer within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or facilities management projects.
