Structural Design Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Structural Design Engineer Department: Engineering Design Reports to: Structural Manager Location: Al Ain, Abu Dhabi Experience: Minimum 6 years (UAE Consultancy experience preferred) Qualification ● Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering ● UAE Society of Engineers Membership preferred ● Abu Dhabi Municipality / DMT registration (preferred) ● Valid UAE Driving Licence preferred Role Purpose Design safe, innovative and cost-effective civil and structural engineering solutions for residential, commercial, mixed-use and industrial developments while ensuring full compliance with UAE building regulations, Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements and international engineering standards. The role is responsible for producing technically sound engineering designs that optimiseconstruction cost, quality and sustainability while supporting Royal Dom's reputation for engineering excellence. Key Responsibilities Engineering Design ● Prepare structural and civil engineering calculations. ● Develop structural concepts for villas, commercial buildings and industrial projects. ● Design reinforced concrete and structural steel systems. ● Review architectural drawings for structural feasibility. ● Optimise structural solutions for cost and constructability. ● Ensure designs comply with UAE codes, Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements and international engineering standards. Technical Coordination ● Coordinate with Architectural, MEP and Project Management teams. ● Attend technical coordination meetings. ● Resolve multidisciplinary design clashes. ● Support BIM and design coordination processes. Authority Approvals ● Prepare engineering submissions. ● Address comments from approving authorities. ● Coordinate revisions until approvals are obtained. Quality Assurance ● Conduct independent design reviews. ● Verify engineering calculations. ● Ensure documentation accuracy. ● Maintain engineering records. Client Support ● Attend client meetings. ● Present engineering solutions. ● Explain design alternatives and value engineering opportunities. Continuous Improvement ● Monitor new engineering technologies. ● Recommend innovative construction methods. ● Contribute to design standards and templates.
