**Job Summary** The 2D & 3D Draftsman will be responsible for translating architectural, engineering, or interior design concepts and sketches into detailed, accurate technical drawings and models using CAD and BIM software. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of local construction standards and codes (specifically in Abu Dhabi/UAE), and the ability to seamlessly transition between 2D technical drawings and 3D visualization. **Key Responsibilities and Duties** 1. **Drawing and Documentation (2D)** * **Prepare Detailed Shop Drawings:** Develop precise and fully coordinated shop drawings, installation drawings, and fabrication drawings based on design specifications, sketches, and engineering calculations. * **Create Layout Plans:** Produce architectural, structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), and Civil layout plans, sections, and elevation drawings. * **Revision Management:** Manage, update, and maintain a centralized library of all project drawings, ensuring all parties are working with the latest approved revisions. * **As-Built Drawings:** Conduct site surveys and incorporate field measurements and site conditions to finalize accurate *As-Built* drawings upon project completion. 2. **3D Modeling and Visualization** * **3D Model Creation:** Convert 2D technical drawings and plans into accurate 3D models for visualization, clash detection, and coordination purposes. * **Rendering (Optional but highly valued):** Assist the design team in creating high-quality 3D renderings and visualizations for client presentations. * **BIM Support:** Where applicable, contribute to BIM (Building Information Modeling) projects by creating or modifying model elements and ensuring data accuracy. 3. **Coordination and Compliance** * **Multidisciplinary Coordination:** Liaise directly with Engineers (Structural, MEP, Civil) and Architects to ensure all discipline drawings are fully coordinated, minimizing design clashes. * **Authority Compliance:** Ensure all drawings adhere strictly to local Abu Dhabi/UAE regulations, building codes, and safety standards (e.g., Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) and Civil Defense requirements). * **Technical Submissions:** Assist the project team in preparing comprehensive technical submittals and drawing packages for client and government approval. 4. **Quantity and Materials** * **Material Take-Offs (MTO) / BOQ:** Prepare accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs directly from the drawings to assist the Estimation and Procurement teams. **Required Skills and Qualifications** **Essential Technical Skills (Must-Haves):** * **Proficiency in 2D CAD:** Expert-level proficiency in **AutoCAD** (essential). * **3D Modeling:** Strong capability in 3D modeling using software such as **Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max, or Civil 3D** (depending on specialization: architecture, structural, MEP, or civil). * **Drawing Interpretation:** Exceptional ability to read, understand, and interpret complex architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and specifications. * **Documentation:** High competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel for BOQ, PowerPoint). **Knowledge & Experience:** * **Education:** Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Drafting, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. * **Experience:** Minimum **[2-5 years]** of relevant experience as a Draftsman, preferably within the UAE construction/consultancy industry. * **UAE Codes:** Strong working knowledge of **UAE Building Codes, Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM)** regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE, etc., based on discipline). * **Language:** Fluency in professional English (written and spoken).
