Job description Job Title: Approved Pre-Owned (APO) Inspector Company: Sardar Trading Agencies- Jaguar Land Rover Dealer Location: Erbil Job Purpose To inspect Jaguar and Land Rover pre-owned vehicles and ensure that each vehicle meets JLR Approved Pre-Owned standards before being offered for sale. The role is responsible for completing the required inspection checklist, identifying mechanical, electrical, body and safety issues, recommending necessary reconditioning work, and maintaining accurate inspection records. Tasks & Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive inspections of pre-owned Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in accordance with the approved JLR APO inspection checklist. Complete the required 165-point inspection, covering mechanical, electrical, body, interior and safety components. Verify the vehicle’s general condition, mileage, service history and maintenance records. Inspect the engine, transmission, suspension, steering, braking, exhaust and cooling systems. Check all electrical and electronic systems using approved JLR diagnostic equipment. Inspect the vehicle’s exterior, paintwork, body panels, glass, lights, wheels and tires. Inspect the interior condition, including seats, trim, controls, infotainment and safety equipment. Perform road tests to evaluate vehicle performance, braking, steering, transmission, suspension, vibration, and abnormal noise. Identify faults and prepare a clear report detailing the required repairs and reconditioning work. Estimate the required parts, labor and repair costs in coordination with the Service and Parts teams. Ensure that reconditioning work is completed using approved procedures and genuine JLR parts. Reinspect vehicles after repairs to confirm that all identified issues have been properly resolved. Approve or reject vehicles based on JLR APO eligibility and quality requirements. Ensure that no vehicle is certified as Approved Pre-Owned unless it has successfully passed all required checks. Maintain accurate inspection forms, diagnostic reports, photographs and supporting documents. Immediately report any safety concern, mileage discrepancy, accident damage or suspected vehicle-history issue. Coordinate with the APO Sales, Service, Parts, Warranty and Quality teams. Maintain JLR tools and diagnostic equipment in good working condition. Follow all company policies, JLR standards, and health and safety requirements. Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the inspection area. Perform any other related duties assigned by the line manager. Qualifications and Experience: Diploma or technical qualification in Automotive Engineering, Automotive Technology or a related field. Minimum 3 years of automotive inspection, diagnosis or repair experience. Previous experience with Jaguar Land Rover or another premium automotive brand is preferred. JLR technical certification or manufacturer-provided training is preferred. Experience in inspecting used or certified pre-owned vehicles is an advantage.
