Chief Accountant

Position **Chief Accountant – Fabrication & Factory Operations** Department **Finance & Accounts** Finance Manager / Managing Director Job Summary The Chief Accountant is responsible for managing all accounting and financial activities related to the company's fabrication and factory operations. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, cost control, inventory management, compliance with UAE regulations, and efficient financial support for production and business operations. **Key Responsibilities:** Financial Management * Manage the company's accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records. * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. * Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial performance. * Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing. Costing & Production Accounting * Maintain job costing and project costing for fabrication works. * Monitor production costs, labor costs, and overhead allocation. * Analyze manufacturing variances and recommend cost-saving measures. * Prepare profitability reports for projects and production orders. Inventory & Fixed Assets * Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory. * Reconcile inventory records with physical stock counts. * Maintain the fixed asset register and calculate depreciation. Accounts Management * Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. * Review supplier payments and customer collections. * Ensure accurate bank reconciliations and cash management. Budgeting & Reporting * Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts. * Provide management with financial analysis and KPI reports. * Support management in financial planning and decision-making. Compliance * Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and statutory requirements. * Coordinate external and internal audits. * Maintain compliance with company financial policies and internal controls. Payroll & Administration * Review payroll calculations and related accounting entries. * Ensure proper accounting for employee benefits, gratuity, and leave provisions. Team Leadership * Supervise and guide the Accounts Department. * Train team members and improve accounting procedures. * Coordinate with Production, Procurement, HR, and Sales departments. Qualifications * Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. * Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA is preferred. Experience * Minimum 7–10 years of accounting experience in UAE. * At least 3–5 years in a manufacturing, fabrication, or factory environment. * Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel. Skills * Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting. * Expertise in manufacturing cost accounting and inventory control. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. * Strong leadership and communication abilities. * Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and financial compliance. * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) * Timely submission of monthly financial reports. * Accuracy of financial statements and reconciliations. * Effective control of production and operating costs. * Inventory accuracy and reduction of stock discrepancies. * Timely VAT filing and statutory compliance. * Improvement in cash flow and working capital management. * Successful completion of internal and external audits.
