Construction Manager

The Construction Department Manager is responsible to lead, oversee, and manage all construction operations and projects executed by the private engineering office, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, safety compliance, and budget control. The Construction Department Manager will coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to deliver high-standard construction works that align with client and management expectations. **JOB LOCATION: FUJAIRAH, UAE** **QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:** * Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering and Construction Management * Professional certification (e.g., PMP, CCM, or Chartered Engineer) preferred * Valid UAE driving license. * Minimum 5 - 10 years of progressive experience in construction project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role * Proven track record managing luxury villa, estate, or hospitality construction projects in the UAE or GCC * Experience working with consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary in-house teams. **KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:** **Construction Management** * Expert in planning, executing, and delivering civil, architectural, and MEP works **Leadership & Team Supervision** * Ability to lead large site teams including engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and laborers * Competence in mentoring, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution * Skilled in managing multiple project sites simultaneously **Technical & Engineering Knowledge** * Advanced understanding of structural and architectural systems * Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical submittals * Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and material optimization **Project Monitoring & Control** * Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, Procore) * Strong skills in risk assessment, issue tracking, and quality assurance * Capable of preparing and presenting project status reports to stakeholders and management **Coordination & Communication** * Strong collaboration with procurement, design, QS, and client relations teams * Liaison with local authorities, consultants, and regulatory bodies * Excellent verbal and written communication in English (Arabic is a plus) **Health, Safety & Compliance** * Ensures all work complies with HSE regulations and internal safety standards * Conducts site audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations Promotes a culture of safety and continuous improvement on all construction sites * Strong knowledge of local construction laws, permits, and UAE building codes * Familiarity with project phasing, sequencing, and critical path scheduling * Budget preparation, resource allocation, and cost control expertise **DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** * Develop and implement construction strategies, objectives, and execution plans. * Align department activities with company goals and client requirements. * Monitor overall departmental performance and productivity. * Manage multiple construction projects from initiation to completion. * Ensure project schedules, budgets, and resources are effectively controlled. * Review project progress and resolve issues impacting delivery. * Establish performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations. * Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. * Prepare and manage departmental and project budgets. * Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures. * Review and approve major procurement and subcontracting activities * Ensure construction works meet contractual specifications and quality requirements. * Monitor quality control processes and inspections. * Address non-conformance issues and ensure corrective measures are implemented * Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and materials efficiently. * Coordinate procurement activities to support project schedules. * Monitor resource utilization and productivity. * Identify project and operational risks. * Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans. * Ensure timely resolution of technical, commercial, and operational issues. **BENEFITS & SALARY:** * External accommodation provided by company * Visa & Health Insurance * 1 economy flight per annum * 30 days’ vacation per annum * Meals while at work * Transportation provided * Salary: AED 10,000 – 15,000 (Tax Free.
