Control Room Operator

Job Description Monitor and control plant operations using DCS, SCADA, or other process control systems. Monitor process parameters, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level, to ensure safe and stable operations. Adjust operating parameters in accordance with approved procedures and instructions from the Shift Engineer. Identify and respond to alarms, process deviations, and equipment malfunctions. Coordinate with field operators to monitor equipment, troubleshoot issues, and execute operational instructions. Support plant start-ups, shutdowns, and process adjustments. Maintain accurate shift logs, production records, and operational reports. Coordinate with maintenance personnel during equipment isolation and maintenance activities. Respond to emergencies and ensure compliance with HSE and process safety procedures. Conduct effective shift handovers and report abnormal operating conditions. Qualifications Education: Diploma or degree in Chemical, Petroleum, or Process Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. Experience: 5–8 years of experience in oil and gas operations, including control room operations. Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with DCS or SCADA systems. Knowledge of oil and gas production and process equipment, including pumps, compressors, and separators. Ability to interpret P&IDs, monitor process trends, and troubleshoot operational issues. Knowledge of PTW, equipment isolation, emergency response, and H₂S safety procedures. Core Competencies: Strong monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork. Ability to work rotating shifts and respond effectively to abnormal operating conditions.
