Job Description – Mechanical EngineerPosition **Mechanical Engineer** Department Projects / Engineering Reports To Project Manager / MEP Manager Location Dubai, UAE Job Summary The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing all mechanical works related to construction projects. The role ensures that all mechanical installations are completed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, safety regulations, and project schedules. Key Responsibilities * Supervise and monitor all mechanical works on-site, including HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting systems. * Review contract documents, specifications, and approved shop drawings before execution. * Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and other disciplines to ensure smooth project execution. * Prepare material requisitions and coordinate procurement activities. * Ensure all materials delivered to site comply with approved specifications. * Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed within the approved schedule. * Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues during construction. * Prepare method statements, inspection requests (IRs), material inspection requests (MIRs), and work inspection requests (WIRs). * Coordinate testing and commissioning activities for all mechanical systems. * Attend client, consultant, subcontractor, and internal project meetings. * Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, project specifications, and quality standards. * Monitor subcontractor performance and certify completed work. * Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports. * Coordinate with the Quantity Surveyor regarding variations, measurements, and claims. * Ensure proper documentation and as-built drawings are maintained. * Enforce company HSE policies and ensure a safe working environment. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. * UAE Equivalency (preferred). * Professional Engineering membership is an advantage. Experience * Minimum **5 years** of experience in MEP construction projects. * UAE experience is mandatory. * Experience in commercial, residential, and fit-out projects. * Experience in **Dubai Airport projects will be an added advantage.** Technical Skills * Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting systems. * Familiarity with DEWA, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence, and other UAE authority requirements. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. * Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. * Knowledge of project planning software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project is an advantage. Soft Skills * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. * Leadership and team management skills. * Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. * Good organizational and reporting skills.
