Hiring – Mechanical Engineer (MEP / Construction) Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates Industry: Construction & Contracting A well-established construction company in Dubai is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in MEP works and building construction projects. Key Requirements * Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university. * Minimum 5 years of proven professional experience within the UAE construction industry – Mandatory. * Candidates without the required UAE experience will not be considered. * Strong practical experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, Fire Fighting, Water Supply, and Mechanical Building Services. * Proven experience in residential, commercial, villa, or building construction projects within the UAE. * Strong knowledge of UAE construction standards, authority requirements, codes, and approval procedures. * Ability to review and coordinate MEP drawings, Shop Drawings, Material Submittals, Method Statements, RFIs, MIRs, and Inspection Requests. * Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems installation, testing, commissioning, and handover procedures. * Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and relevant engineering software. * Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving, and site management skills. * Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills will be considered an advantage. Key Responsibilities * Manage and supervise all mechanical and MEP works on assigned construction projects. * Ensure that HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting, and other mechanical systems are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, authority requirements, and project standards. * Review mechanical drawings, technical submittals, material approvals, method statements, and project specifications prior to execution. * Coordinate closely with Civil, Architectural, Electrical, and MEP teams to identify and resolve technical conflicts before and during construction. * Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities regarding technical approvals, inspections, and project requirements. * Monitor site progress and ensure mechanical works are completed in accordance with the approved project schedule. * Supervise mechanical subcontractors and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and contractual requirements. * Conduct and coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, snagging, and final handover of mechanical systems. * Monitor material requirements and coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely availability of approved materials. * Identify technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions to avoid delays and rework. * Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and maintain accurate project records. * Ensure full compliance with UAE regulations, authority requirements, HSE standards, and company quality procedures.
