About the role
INTECH Process Automation is seeking a seasoned
PLC/SCADA Technician
to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The
Technician
is responsible for routine maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and testing of
PLC, RTU, SCADA and associated field communication equipment
. The role supports reliable system operation through hardware maintenance, communication checks, module replacement and field testing under approved procedures and engineering direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine PLC/RTU/SCADA preventive and corrective maintenance.
Inspect and troubleshoot PLC/RTU panels, controllers, I/O modules, power supplies and associated hardware.
Perform approved module, power-supply and hardware replacement and verify system operation.
Conduct I/O checks, signal verification, loop checks and field functional testing.
Inspect and troubleshoot serial/Ethernet communication links, cable and fiber interfaces.
Support basic HMI/SCADA diagnostics, alarm review and fault identification.
Support approved system backup, restoration and configuration verification.
Assist engineers with commissioning, tie-ins, functional testing and controlled return to service.
Identify and report equipment faults, communication failures and abnormal system conditions.
Maintain PLC/SCADA spare parts, tools and test equipment.
Record maintenance activities, test results, hardware replacements and faults in CMMS and maintenance records.
Coordinate with Operations, Instrumentation, Electrical, PLC/SCADA Engineers and other maintenance teams.
Comply with PTW, LOTO, HSE, cybersecurity and approved PLC/SCADA maintenance procedures.
Requirements:
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
Technical Diploma/ITI in Instrumentation, Electronics, Automation, Electrical or relevant discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or comparable industrial facilities, including at least 3 years as a PLC/SCADA Technician.
Hands-on experience with PLC/RTU panels, I/O modules, power supplies and control-system hardware.
Experience in I/O checks, loop testing, signal verification and field functional testing.
Basic knowledge of HMI/SCADA diagnostics and alarms.
Experience troubleshooting serial/Ethernet communications, cables and fiber interfaces.
Knowledge of approved PLC/SCADA backup and restoration procedures.
Ability to perform hardware replacement and basic fault finding under engineering direction.
Familiarity with CMMS, maintenance documentation and test records.
Good understanding of PTW, LOTO, HSE and cybersecurity requirements.
PLC/SCADA OEM training or certification is highly desirable.
