About the role
INTECH Process Automation is seeking a seasoned
ICSS Engineer
to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The
ICSS Engineer
is responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, configuration support, testing and restoration of
DCS, SIS and PLC-based control systems
. The role ensures system availability, configuration integrity and safe return to service following maintenance or modifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting and maintenance of DCS, SIS and PLC hardware and software.
Maintain and troubleshoot controllers, I/O modules, communication networks, servers and operator/engineering stations.
Support hardware replacement, configuration changes, upgrades and system restoration.
Verify controller redundancy, I/O health, communication links and system performance.
Perform and maintain system backups, restoration and configuration records.
Support alarm, interlock, Cause & Effect and control-logic verification.
Troubleshoot and maintain OPC, Modbus, historian and third-party system interfaces.
Perform loop checks, functional testing, Cause & Effect testing and post-maintenance verification.
Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, start-up, shutdown and controlled return-to-service activities.
Conduct RCA and failure analysis and recommend reliability improvements.
Implement approved configuration changes in accordance with MOC and change-control procedures.
Maintain technical documentation including test records, backups, configuration records, failure reports and CMMS close-out.
Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, OEMs and specialist vendors for technical issues.
Support emergency troubleshooting and safe recovery of critical ICSS functions.
Comply with PTW, LOTO, HSE, cybersecurity and ICSS management procedures.
Requirements:
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or industrial facilities, including at least 3 years in ICSS/control-system engineering.
Strong knowledge of DCS, SIS and PLC hardware/software, controllers, I/O and redundancy.
Experience with OPC, Modbus, historian and third-party system interfaces.
Experience in backups, restoration, configuration management and controlled system changes.
Knowledge of alarms, interlocks, Cause & Effect and functional testing.
Experience with loop checks, FAT/SAT, commissioning and post-maintenance testing.
Strong troubleshooting, diagnostics and failure-analysis capabilities.
Understanding of MOC, change control, cybersecurity and system integrity.
Good technical documentation, communication and coordination skills.
