About the role
INTECH Process Automation is seeking a seasoned
Wellhead Instrument Technician
to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team, responsible for performing
routine maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and functional testing
of wellhead instrumentation and control systems. The role supports
WHCP, shutdown systems, field instruments, valve feedback, hydraulic/pneumatic controls, RTU I/O
, and safe restoration of wellhead systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform PM/CM, inspection, calibration, repair, and testing of wellhead instrumentation and control systems.
Maintain and troubleshoot WHCP components, solenoids, relays, valves, actuators, and control circuits.
Calibrate and test pressure, temperature, flow, and other wellhead field instruments.
Perform loop checks, signal verification, functional tests, and shutdown/interlock checks under approved procedures.
Inspect and maintain instrument tubing, fittings, manifolds, hydraulic/pneumatic lines, and connections.
Verify valve position feedback, limit switches, solenoids, and fail-safe functions.
Perform RTU I/O checks and local/remote functional testing between field devices and remote control systems.
Troubleshoot instrumentation, control, hydraulic, pneumatic, and communication faults and escalate complex issues.
Support wellhead tie-ins, commissioning, start-up, shutdown, modifications, and system reinstatement.
Inspect hazardous-area instrumentation, junction boxes, cabling, glands, and field installations.
Record as-found/as-left conditions, calibration results, test results, defects, repairs, and CMMS activities.
Maintain test equipment, calibration standards, tools, and required spares in serviceable condition.
Coordinate with Operations, Production, Electrical, Mechanical, ICSS, Engineering, and OEM/vendor teams.
Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, HSE, process safety, hazardous-area, MOC, and site requirements.
Requirements:
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
Technical Diploma/ITI in Instrumentation, Electronics, Automation, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant oil & gas/industrial experience, including at least 3 years as a Wellhead Instrument Technician.
Hands-on experience with WHCP components, shutdown systems, solenoids, relays, valves, and actuators.
Competent in calibration and testing of pressure, temperature, flow, and wellhead field instruments.
Experience with valve feedback, limit switches, tubing, fittings, hydraulic/pneumatic controls, and instrument air systems.
Experience performing loop checks, functional testing, shutdown/interlock checks, and local/remote testing.
Basic knowledge of RTU/PLC I/O and remote monitoring/control interfaces.
Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and communication faults.
Knowledge of hazardous-area/Ex requirements for field instrumentation.
Experience with CMMS, calibration records, maintenance documentation, and test reports.
