Quantity Surveyor ( concrete restoration)

A **Quantity Surveyor (QS) – Concrete Restoration** is responsible for managing the costs, contracts, and commercial aspects of concrete repair and restoration projects to ensure they are completed within budget while meeting contractual requirements. Typical responsibilities * Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for concrete restoration works. * Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documents. * Performing quantity take-offs for repair items, including: * Concrete removal * Reinforcement treatment/replacement * Repair mortars * Epoxy injection * Crack repair * Protective coatings * Waterproofing * Structural strengthening (FRP, steel plates, etc.) * Preparing and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations. * Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with contractual terms. * Preparing interim payment applications and certifying subcontractor invoices. * Measuring completed work and preparing monthly valuations. * Managing variations, change orders, and claims. * Preparing cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts. * Monitoring project costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings. * Coordinating with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and clients on commercial matters. * Maintaining records of quantities, variations, correspondence, and contract documentation. Required skills * Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles and contract administration. * Ability to prepare accurate quantity take-offs from drawings. * Familiarity with concrete restoration methods and materials. * Knowledge of standard forms of contract such as FIDIC. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD). * Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Typical qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. * 3–10+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in concrete restoration, structural rehabilitation, or civil construction. * Membership or progress toward professional bodies such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) is often an advantage. * Familiarity with construction estimating, procurement, and cost control processes. ts.
