Refinery Planning Engineer

**Position Summary:** We are hiring a **Refinery Planning Engineer** to support project scheduling, progress control, and execution monitoring activities for refinery and energy sector projects. The role requires strong coordination with engineering, construction, procurement, and project management teams to ensure planned activities are executed efficiently and project milestones are achieved within the required timelines. **Primary Responsibilities:** * Develop and manage detailed project schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities. * Monitor project performance by comparing actual progress with approved plans and identify areas requiring corrective action. * Coordinate with various project disciplines to collect updates, validate progress status, and maintain accurate project reporting. * Prepare weekly, monthly, and periodic progress reports highlighting completed works, upcoming activities, delays, and recovery plans. * Support the preparation of baseline schedules, milestone charts, resource plans, and project execution strategies. * Analyze schedule risks, critical activities, and potential bottlenecks affecting project completion. * Track engineering deliverables, material procurement status, construction activities, inspection milestones, and commissioning requirements. * Assist project teams in developing mitigation plans to recover schedule delays and improve productivity. * Maintain project control documents, planning databases, and performance records for management review. * Participate in coordination meetings with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to provide planning updates and recommendations. **Required Qualifications & Skills:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline. * Minimum **4 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within refinery, oil & gas, or industrial projects.** * Strong knowledge of project control methods, progress measurement, and schedule management. * Proficiency in **Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent planning software.** * Experience in preparing project schedules, look-ahead plans, progress curves, and performance reports. * Ability to review technical documents, engineering deliverables, construction sequences, and project milestones. * Strong coordination skills with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams. * Good analytical ability with attention to project timelines, risks, and resource planning. **Preferred Background:** * Experience working on refinery shutdowns, brownfield projects, EPC projects, petrochemical facilities, or large industrial developments. * Exposure to contractor/client reporting systems, progress tracking methods, and project performance reviews. * Familiarity with construction activities, mechanical works, structural works, piping, equipment installation, and commissioning processes will be an advantage.
