**Senior MEP Engineer (Design & Build Specialist)** **Location: Sharjah / Dubai, UAE** **Position Type: Full-Time (Design & Build Project)** **Required Experience: 10+ Years of Local UAE Experience (Sharjah preferred)** **Language Requirement: Fluent Arabic & English (Mandatory)** **Job Summary:** **We are seeking a highly experienced, multi-disciplinary Senior MEP Engineer to join our team for an active Design & Build (D&B) high-rise residential project.** **Because of the D&B nature of this project, the successful candidate must possess a strong engineering design background to critically evaluate, verify, and optimize Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) designs. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between design theory and site execution, managing material procurement lists, reviewing contracts, and inspecting site installation quality.** **Key Responsibilities:** **1. Design & Build (D&B) Design Review (Key Focus)** * **Perform comprehensive constructability and value engineering reviews of all MEP design drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Drainage, Firefighting, and Low-Current systems).** * **Identify design discrepancies, gaps, and coordination clashes early to minimize variations and prevent rework on site.** * **Review, verify, and approve design calculations to ensure compliance with local authority regulations and project design briefs.** **2. Site Inspection & Quality Control** * **Conduct rigorous, regular site inspections to verify that MEP installations strictly adhere to approved design drawings, method statements, and quality standards.** * **Supervise subcontractor site works and resolve on-site technical execution challenges.** * **Monitor testing, commissioning, and final handover procedures of all MEP systems.** **3. Material List Review & Compilation** * **Review, verify, and compile comprehensive MEP Material Take-offs (MTO) and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).** * **Review, evaluate, and approve technical material submittals to ensure they match both contract requirements and budget targets.** **4. Contract & Commercial Review** * **Thoroughly review MEP contract documents, scope of work boundaries, and technical specifications.** * **Assist the commercial team in evaluating variations, scope changes, and subcontractor claims under the Design & Build framework.** **5. Technical Coordination & BIM Collaboration** * **Liaise and coordinate directly with local authorities (such as SEWA, Sharjah Municipality, Civil Defense, etc.), clients, consultants, and subcontractors.** * **Utilize BIM tools to review structural/architectural/MEP coordination and track clash resolution.** **Mandatory Requirements:** * **Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a closely related discipline).** * **Experience: Minimum 10+ years of active MEP engineering experience in the UAE, with a strong preference for candidates with extensive experience in Sharjah.** * **Language: Must be a fluent Arabic speaker (written and spoken) to liaise with local authorities, clients, and partners.** * **Project Background: Proven experience working on Design & Build high-rise residential or commercial projects in the UAE.** Pay: AED20,000.00 - AED23,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
