Position Overview:
The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and executing site engineering tasks, performing quantity surveying duties, preparing technical documentation, conducting inspections, and supporting all construction and investigation activities. The role requires strong technical competency, analytical skills, field supervision, and close coordination with project stakeholders to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
**General Site Engineering & Coordination**
* Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
* Coordinate with the main office for preparation and issuance of shop drawings aligned with site conditions.
* Supervise and guide Site Foremen based on instructions from the Project Engineer.
* Communicate daily work activities, priorities, and tasks to the site team.
* Ensure all activities adhere to approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
* Implement QA/QC procedures and ensure adherence to HSE regulations.
* Monitor site progress, identify potential delays, and report resource requirements.
* Track productivity and prepare daily production logs in coordination with the Foreman and Supervisor.
* Maintain comprehensive document control for all drawings, reports, and site files.
* Manage and reconcile site petty cash with proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
* Responsible for correcting daily logs and assigning labor on AMS in accordance with the Project Engineer’s instructions
**A.** **Quantity Surveying & Technical Documentation**
* Prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs, material estimates, and site measurements.
* Prepare provisional sum submissions as required by project specifications.
* Prepare steel orders, concrete orders, bar bending schedules (BBS), and steel shop drawings.
* Develop technical submittals, laboratory test reports, and supporting documentation.
* Maintain updated as-built drawings throughout construction progress.
* Prepare IRs, MEP clearance requests, and maintain accurate logs for all submittals.
* Prepare project close-out documents including permit drawings, approved IRs, lab test results, work permits, final PA reports, TOC, and completion certificates.
**B. Inspection, Testing & Quality Control**
* Prepare and submit Inspection Requests (IRs) and follow up with consultants/clients for approval.
* Conduct joint surveys with client representatives for new work areas.
* Verify site readiness for inspections in coordination with the Project Engineer.
* Prepare internal snag lists and monitor rectification works with the Foreman.
* Maintain laboratory test logs and follow up for draft and final testing results.
* Prepare technical submittals related to laboratory testing and quality control requirements.
* Conduct steel/MEP service scanning and confirm slab thickness prior to execution of related works.
**C. Construction Responsibilities**
* Coordinate with the Foreman and Storekeeper regarding material delivery and availability.
* Prepare &/or support the preparation of revised and updated shop drawings with the main office.
* Prepare concrete orders based on daily site requirements.
* Prepare steel reinforcement detailing, BBS, and structural shop drawings.
* Ensure accurate execution of architectural, structural, and MEP works in compliance with project specifications.
**D. Investigation Work Responsibilities**
* Prepare indicative test drawings in coordination with the design team and Project Engineer.
* Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Semi-Destructive Testing (SDT) using approved equipment.
* Extract results from scanning tools and prepare corresponding technical reports.
* Maintain and update test lists and test matrix sheets based on project needs.
* Prepare concrete core samples and dust samples; coordinate submission with warehouse and lab teams.
**Qualifications & Skills:**
* *Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.*
* *Strong understanding of construction methodologies, testing procedures, and MEP/structural coordination.*
* *Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and QS software tools.*
* *Strong communication, analytical, and reporting skills.*
* *Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple tasks.*
* *High attention to detail and excellent document control discipline.*
